Charles Heath 1785-1848
An illustrator and engraver, Heath was the illegitimate son of the engraver James Heath. He exhibited at the Society of British (of which he was a member) and at the Royal Academy from 1801 to 1825. He engraved plates after his own work and after a number of popular artists, notably Benjamin West He is best known as a publisher of the illustrated travel “Annuals” of the 1830s, for whom a number of artists produced work.
